Step one of making Hillbert's sprite.
Step two of making Hillbert's sprite.
Step three of making Hillbert's sprite. Notice the missing pincers.
Not to happy with how his walk cycle turned out here, but I do like the wheel's movement.
Throwing a stunning projectile.
Punching!
The almighty spin attack!
Before HyperBlast was about Hillbert the robot ant being on a game show, it originally was about a character named HyperMan exploring TV channels. This was the very first idea for the game, back when it was called HyperTV. The story went that a guy named Sam was watching TV one day and noticed all of the channels were playing lame content he didn't like. In anger, he punches a hole in his TV screen, causing a vortext to appear that sucks him into the TV. The main reason I changed the idea into what it is now is because the idea was wayyyyy too similar to an old Garfield video game. Here's some designs for HyperMan that I could find.
While drawing these, I got the idea to make a character based off of an ant. So I came up with a cool design inspired by a Sonic enemy and created... this.
I did put a warning for things like this.
So I attempted to draw him again and ta da! Hillbert was born, with a different name. No idea why I renamed him but Hillbert is a funnier name in my opinion.
